The Office of Research, Export Control Officer, along with the campus Export Control Advisory Committee directs and advises the campus community with regard to exports and deemed exports (transfer, release or disclosure to foreign persons in the United States of technical data about controlled commodities) through a program of technical assistance and education.
Because you, as an individual, and UCI can be held liable for improperly transferring controlled technology, it is important that you review the federal requirements.
The Export Control Officer's goal is to provide the UCI research community with a reliable source of support, to ensure UCI research activities are compliant with U.S. Export Control regulations. The Export Control Officer will provide restricted party screening, export licensing review, licensing filing (which may take 6 weeks to obtain approval from the US government) and customized training on various export control topics.
