The Office of Research will be closed during the UC Irvine Winter Administrative Recess (December 24, 2013 through January 1, 2014).
Lead Researchers and administrative contacts should be mindful of this closure when planning proposal submissions or submissions to UCI regulatory committees.
Should you have any questions regarding funding opportunities with proposal submission deadlines that fall during the Winter Administrative Recess, please contact the Contract and Grant Officer(s) assigned to your unit as soon as possible.
Please also review the Committee Calendar for deadlines/meetings scheduled before and shortly after the break.
Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA), Research Protections (RP) and Conflict of Interest in Research (COI) comprise the Research Administration units of the Office of Research. SPA is the office of record for extramural proposals and awards supporting UCI's research, education and public service programs; it is also responsible for overseeing and facilitating export control compliance in research. The RP and COI units manage faculty-based regulatory review functions as required by federal and state regulations and UC policy. Research Administration personnel are expert resources for policy and program information. As such, they act as administrative officials (through delegation of authority) with external sponsors, regulatory agencies, higher education organizations, and professional societies regarding regulatory changes, institutional policy development and implementation of regulatory requirements and enhancements.
