ATTENTION RESEARCHERS:

Notice

Amendment to Patent Acknowledgement - November 2011 As a result of recent court decisions, UC’s ability to meet its various obligations associated with rights to inventions and patents are at risk. It is important that you sign an Amendment to the Patent Acknowledgment or Agreement you previously signed.

As of April 26, 2012 faculty and staff may sign the UC Patent Amendment online via At Your Service. By logging in to their personal AYSO account and selecting "My Patent Amendment," employees will be notified if they previously signed the amendment and, if not, will be provided the immediate opportunity to do so.  This new signature option means that employees will no longer need to wait to receive their personalized link from the vendor in order to sign the amendment.

Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA), Research Protections (RP) and Conflict of Interest in Research (COI) comprise the Research Administration units of the Office of Research. SPA is the office of record for extramural proposals and awards supporting UCI's research, education and public service programs; it is also responsible for overseeing and facilitating export control compliance in research. The RP and COI units manage faculty-based regulatory review functions as required by federal and state regulations and UC policy. Research Administration personnel are expert resources for policy and program information. As such, they act as administrative officials (through delegation of authority) with external sponsors, regulatory agencies, higher education organizations, and professional societies regarding regulatory changes, institutional policy development and implementation of regulatory requirements and enhancements.
