IACUC Full Committee Meeting Results
The following are the results from the IACUC Meeting held on 06/12/08to review protocols for activities involving the use of animals.
Please refer to the protocol number sent to the Lead Researcher in an e-mail memo confirming receipt of your application and use the following codes to determine the Committee action:
A: Approved As Submitted.
All IACUC issues have been addressed adequately in the submission. An official IACUC approval letter will be mailed to the Lead Researcher within 10 working days. Actual commencement of the study may have to wait until other required (non-IACUC) approvals have been obtained.
M: Minor (specific) changes required.
Specific revisions and changes are required for approval. An official IACUC communication will be sent via e-mail to the Lead Researcher within 10 working days. Once the Lead Researcher submits the specific changes requested by the IACUC, the protocol may be reviewed administratively and approved by the IACUC Chair without going back to full committee.
T: Tabled for Designated Review by Subcommittee.
Substantive information, details, and/or clarifications are necessary to address IACUC issues or concerns. An official IACUC communication will be sent via e-mail to the Lead Researcher within 10 working days. Once the Lead Researcher submits the specific changes requested by the IACUC, the protocol may be reviewed by a designated subcommittee of members that can approve the protocol, require additional information, or return the protocol to full committee.
R: Resubmission for Re-Review by the Full Committee.
The protocol, as submitted, raises significant concerns and/or does not adequately address or provide key elements requested in the application. An official IACUC communication will be sent via e-mail to the Lead Researcher within 5 working days. Once the Lead Researcher submits the specific changes requested by the IACUC, the protocol will require full committee review. Protocols are reviewed by the full committee once per month and must be received on or before a given deadline date. See IACUC meeting deadlines for more information.
