Jacob E. Levin Ph.D. The Research Development Officer for the Schools of Physical and Biological Sciences, has 25 years of academic and industrial research training and experience, and 10 over years experience with research grant writing and administration. He has significantly participated in the writing of funded grants from the NIH, NSF, DOD (DARPA), HHMI, Dept of Education, and private donors. The projects he has been involved in include training grants, SBIR's for biotech, a range of interdisciplinary research proposals, $2 - $40 million Center grants, and a $350 million building grant. His background in experimental physics, neuroscience and biotech small business allow him to contribute to the scientific aspects of proposals, as well as providing editing, structural, and general preparation support. |

Rebecca L. Crippin Rebecca has been the Assistant to the Research Development Officer for the Schools of Physical and Biological Sciences since April of 2005. Her education includes graduating from California State University of Long Beach (CSULB) with her B.A. in Psychology in 2002, and, as of June 2004, she has completed all of her coursework for her M.A. in English Composition from California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). She expects to have her thesis completed shortly. Rebecca has had a considerable amount of editing and writing experience, and, when enrolled at CSUSB, took a graduate level grant-writing course. Rebecca’s most relevant employment experiences include working as a Tutor/Editor at CSUSB’s Writing Center, designing curricula as a Teaching assistant at CSUSB, doing freelance editing work, and writing proposals for Volt Information Sciences at their corporate offices in Orange, CA. |

Bo Ran Kang The Research Development Office Intern is a senior pre-medical student, majoring in Cognitive Psychology, with a minor in Biology, at UCI. She has a science background not only from her science curriculum, but also from 2 years of hospital intern experience, and research participation in a Down Syndrome & Alzheimer’s Disease lab. Currently, she is volunteering with Down Syndrome children every Sunday. She also has three years of writing and editing experience as chief editor of a school magazine. In addition, she has 2 years of office work experience. These experiences gave her motivation to work in the Research Development Office. |
